Pilates is a fantastic type of exercise to develop kids strength, flexibility and coordination.

It includes elements of mindfulness and body-awareness to help develop your child's focus and attention.

Pilates is a great foundational exercise that can support a wide range of skills from learning and fine-motor to sports and gross-motor play.

This non-competitive friendly environment is perfect for building confidence and enjoyment with movement and exercise that can set up lifetime healthy habits.

Physiotherapist Elise has just completed 'Kids HEART Pilates' training - using Pilates principles and adapting specifically for kids in a fun and engaging way!

A few things to note:

A grown-up must attend with the child, unfortunately we do not have resources to supervise other children

Wear comfy clothes you can easily bend and move in, The activities will be in bare feet or socks - don't worry our room is cosy!

These classes are designed for all children for general exercise and physical literacy.   If your child has a developmental delay or disability and you would like to try Pilates exercise please get in touch to find out how these groups can be adapted to suit.

Pilates exercise can also be included in one of our other support options if a more targeted program is needed.

For children from 0-12 years of age, we can assess and screen for developmental concerns and provide you with evidence-based advice that suits your child and your family.

We can also help you with where to go next by liaising with your GP or Paediatrician or writing referrals to other Allied Health Professionals as needed.
